Assistant Teachers/Kitchen Staff

Mental Health America of Boone County is seeking three (3) full time Assistant Teachers for its outdoor-focused preschool, Growing Minds Learning Center in Lebanon, Indiana – two traditional assistant teachers, and one combined position that includes assistant teacher/kitchen staff responsibilities.  The assistant teachers will assist the lead teacher(s) in educating children ages 3-5 primarily in an outdoor setting, and fostering children’s awareness, understanding, appreciation, and protection of nature. Responsibilities include assisting with the supervision of children ages 3 through 5 (1:10 ratio) during the school day, welcoming and greeting children and families during arrival and departure times, ensuring children’s social-emotional and physical needs are met throughout the day; spending 60-75% of the preschool day in an outdoor setting; providing direction for children in the outdoor preschool, and, under the Lead Teacher’s direction, instructing children using an early-learning curriculum with a nature-based focus.  Must be punctual, responsible, attentive, courteous, enjoy working with children, and must enjoy the outdoor environment.

B.A.S.E

B.A.S.E. Group Leader

B.A.S.E. seeks group leaders for its various BASE sites. One group leader will be assigned to each site and will lead all other site staff at that site. Group leaders must enjoy working with children, possess strong leadership and organizational skills, be motivated and willing to take charge, and lead by example. Group leaders will be required to  do each of the tasks a site staff person would be expected to do while also being accountable for managing staff at each site. Group leaders are responsible for keeping each site staffed and supervised, running smoothly, clean and organized, and communicating with administration regarding site operations, among other responsibilities. Hours are 6:00 – 9:00 AM and 3:00 – 6:00 PM Monday through Friday in Lebanon, and 2:00 – 6:00 PM Monday through Friday in Western Boone. Pay will be hourly and commensurate with experience.

B.A.S.E. Site Leader

Mental Health America of Boone County is seeking site leaders for all of its B.A.S.E. (Before and After School Enrichment) sites in Lebanon and Western Boone elementary schools. We are currently hiring both REGULAR and SUBSTITUTE site leaders. In Lebanon Schools, regular site leader shifts run from 6:00 – 9:00 AM and 3:00 – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. For Western Boone, regular site leaders’ shifts are afternoon-only, Monday through Friday from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. SUBSTITUTE site leaders will be trained and contacted AS NEEDED to fill in. Site leader responsibilities include supervising and interacting with elementary aged children, supervising indoor and outdoor play time, helping with homework, assisting with snack times, and interacting with parents, among other responsibilities. Candidates must be responsible, professional, courteous, motivated, and most of all interact well with and like children. Pay is hourly. New hires are eligible for increase in pay after 90 day introductory period.
